Ace Waste's Loudoun Facility
Loudoun Site (enlarge) We are currently in permitting on PD-GI land adjacent to Dulles International Airport in Loudoun County VA, and developing facilities at other US locations.
Key information about the Loudoun Facility
- Expected average -- 400 tons per day; it is sustainable at 180 tons per day.
- The majority of materials processed are recycled.
- Materials recycled will include: aggregates, wood, carpet, wallboard, metals, cardboard, paper, glass, textiles, plastics, and residual dirt. The facility will also remove reusable materials, much of which will be donated to charitable organizations such as Habitat for Humanity.
- Builders will earn a minimum of 2 LEED points for recycling C&D
- Supported by citizens, environmental groups, builders, and businesses
- Some materials are manufactured for wholesale, such as wood to dyed mulch and aggregate to construction grade crushed stone. Other materials are packaged for commodity markets, such as for metals, cardboard, and paper.
- Built on a "manufacturing model": all activities conducted indoors with an emphasis on efficiency through automation and product quality. Green building features include a dust suppression system that utilizes water collected from the roof, eliminating dust from leaving the facility and substantially reducing impacts from having to treat storm water.
- We charge customers, either for our collection service or drop-off at our facility, less than traditional waste disposal competitors. Additionally, our outbound products often cost less than comparable virgin products.
- The facility expects to average 90 unique truck visits per day.
- The Ace Waste facility is set back 0.25 miles from Rt. 606 next to Dulles Airport, and another .73 miles down Rt. 606 to the entrance of the nearest residential community. Rt. 606 is an industrial corridor that will be expanded to 6 lanes, and which connects to the north to the Toll Road and to the South to the Loudoun County Parkway and Rt 50.
